 FAQs

  • This depends on a variety of factors. Your location, number of children, experience required for the job, qualifications of the nanny, and the typical day to day duties performed by the nanny are all important things to consider. We can better answer this question over a discovery call when we understand your situation in more detail. Complete your Family Registration to get started.

  • Absolutely! Not only is it the legal thing to do, but there are many benefits such as financial and tax breaks, liability reasons and peace of mind. We know nanny taxes can seem daunting and confusing. We will make sure all of your household employee-related questions are answered and that you feel confident in your role as an employer.

  • Depending on the position, we usually have candidates for you within two to eight weeks. Besides the initial search and screening, please consider it will take your family some time to interview nannies, host a trial, and review the work agreement. We do not offer on-call or occasional babysitting services. If you’re looking for a nanny who can start tomorrow, unfortunately we cannot help you.

  • We offer several different placement packages depending on the type of care you’re needing. You can view our packages here.

  • We curate customized work agreements for all of our placements. This lays out the caregivers duties, expectations, compensation, house rules, schedule, and more so that your new relationship runs seamlessly.

  • A Newborn Care Specialist is highly trained in newborn and postpartum care. They offer hands-on care and support for newborns from birth to 3-4 months. They help establish healthy routines and educate new parents on best care practices for baby. Newborn Care Specialists differ from nannies, as they are professionally trained and educated in all aspects of newborn care, typically do not care for other children, and are with families for a short period of time.

  • Babysitters are ideal for short-term engagements, offering reliable care during parents' brief absences. They excel in providing supervision, engaging in play, and ensuring the safety of children. On the other hand, nannies become integral members of the family, offering long-term, consistent support. Nannies build deep connections with the children they care for, taking on responsibilities beyond basic supervision, such as assisting with homework, preparing meals, and managing daily routines. Families seeking the flexibility of occasional care or an extra pair of hands for specific occasions may opt for babysitters, while those requiring consistent, personalized, and comprehensive childcare often find a nanny to be the perfect solution. Up Above is dedicated to matching families with the ideal caregiver to meet their unique needs and preferences.
