Owner & FounderPrior to launching Up Above, Kaila spent over a decade building a career in the Early Childhood Development field working as a nanny and Newborn Care Specialist. When Kaila had a little one of her own, she understood even more so what it felt like as a parent to leave your child in someone else’s care. She strives to make what is usually a scary and overwhelming process for families, as smooth and easy as possible!

Recruitment SpecialistKatelyn is a mom to two young girls. Prior to motherhood, Katelyn was a successful nanny and worked as an Assistant Director at a Bay Area preschool. Katelyn studied Child Development at Cal State East Bay. She is passionate about providing children and their families with the best experience and relationships. Katelyn works directly with our nannies to assure they are fully screened and vetted.

Why “Up Above”?
Up Above’s founder Kaila’s 4-year-old son, Luca, is the reason behind our name. The name “Up Above” comes from the line, “up above the world so high” in Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Luca loves stars and moons. When he was younger, he was the first to point them out on a busy t-shirt, in a restaurant, or even in the sky. Everywhere we went he would should out, “up above!” every time one was spotted. It’s fitting because we believe our nannies are “up above” all the rest.
